Intern Major: Biochemistry I am a current international student at Stony Brook University, pursuing a degree in Biochemistry. I am from Guyana, South America, where mosquitoes are most prevalent and thus I have witnessed first-hand many neighbors, friends and family members who fell prey to mosquito transmitted diseases and the drastic changes this results in, in their daily lives. To be able to be a part of an initiative that will provide an all-natural mosquito repellent to countries fated to widespread mosquito transmitted diseases, would make my educational journey so much more fulfilling knowing the positive impact this would have on numerous lives. I am humbled to be apart of this company and look forward to working hard with the diligent team in realizing the company’s goals. |
Britney Findel
Intern Major: Biology I am a biology major in my junior year at Stony Brook University. While preparing for a medical brigade to an underdeveloped region of Panama during my sophomore year, I became increasingly aware of, and concerned with the lack of aide that residents in these areas have when it comes to the prevention of mosquito borne illnesses. Here at Mosquitoes Be Gone, I have the incredible opportunity to play a role in combating these diseases and making a change. |
Arman Bowen
Intern Major: Psychology I’m a senior in the Psychology major at Stony Brook University. I’m so excited to be interning with MBG because I was inspired by founder Ruchi Shah’s story in her TEDxSBU talk about her experience seeing lines of people seeking treatment for mosquito transmitted diseases in India. The two sides of my family are from India and Guyana, where the mosquito populations are high. Many families in these countries suffer because they are unable to protect themselves against mosquito transmitted diseases. I want to be able to do something to help stop the spread by protecting my family and others around the world with a safe, chemical free product like Mosquitoes Be Gone. I believe in the MBG mission to reach under-served people and help them to protect themselves against mosquito transmitted diseases. |
